Feeling great after in-office Sinus procedure

Dr. Young saved my life!

We are writing this review of Dr. Paul Young following the wonderful experience we had with his treatment of our son. Our son was experiencing chronic nose bleeds. We were able to obtain an appointment quickly and the office staff was extremely polite and helpful.

Dr. Young was so personable and caring. He spent much time with us and was very thorough and comprehensive in his examination and treatment of our son. He answered all of our questions, gave us clear and easy to understand explanations and directions and did not make us feel rushed.

He first suggested the most minimally invasive treatments and did not try to advocate for surgery without attempting other treatments first. Our son ended up having to have his nose cauterized and was very anxious about the procedure. Dr. Young made the experience as pleasant as possible and made extraordinary efforts to put our son at ease.

Our son received excellent care from Dr. Young and his staff and we can not recommend him and his practice more highly.

My husband, Richard Laub, was recently treated by Dr. Young, and had this to say:

My experience as a patient of Dr. Paul Young has been entirely satisfactory. He is knowledgeable, caring, pro-active, and takes pains to establish clear communication between patient and doctor. While under his care, I felt that I had his complete attention, regardless of the time involved.

In brief, Dr. Young is what I would hope for in a physician.

Patient completes Balloon Sinus Dilation procedure

Director of ER about Dr. Paul Young

Dr. Young had a full roster of patients, but took the time to listen to us, and provide a thorough exam as if there were not any other patients waiting to see him. Dr. Young has an excellent bedside manner, is extremely competent, listens attentively, is intuitive, and clearly understands the nature of the problem before him. Without hesitation, we highly recommend Dr. Young. He is capable of making a patient feel relaxed and quickly put our minds at ease. It was obvious, and reassuring to see that he is highly skilled in dealing with issues relating to ENT and beyond.

ER Doctor refers his patients to Dr. Young

Dr Young was so thorough and reassuring! His staff was friendly and helpful!
The office is so “state-of the -art” and has an instantly relaxing feel. He really went above and beyond for me, taking the time to explain exactly what procedures he was performing, what the issues were, and what steps to take to remedy the situation. He even uncovered issues that I wasnt yet aware of, and I was so glad to have it brought to my attention and dealt with. Dr Young gives you the time of day, something so hard to find today! I highly recommend Dr Young!

Nosebleeds ~ the drippy (but not so dreadful) reality

Epistaxis, a condition commonly referred to as nosebleeds, occurs at the vascular area within the nose, which can bleed profusely as a result of facial trauma. The nose’s arterioles (tiny blood vessels) are vulnerably positioned and thus can easily rupture.

Approximately 60 percent of people experience epistaxis at some point in their life. Only 6 percent of those who suffer with nosebleeds tend to seek medical treatment, and even fewer require hospitalization.

Though epistaxis can occur at any age, it mostly has a bimodal distribution, afflicting toddlers to children age 10, as well as adults over 50. There are two types of nosebleeds – those that stem from the front of the nose (anterior) which are most common, and those that stem from the back of the nose (posterior) which are less common and more severe in nature.

One, Two, Ah-choo! What to know about seasonal allergies

Seasonal allergies, also commonly referred to as hay fever or allergic rhinitis, is an allergy to weeds that pollinate. The damaging immune response that occurs consists of inflammation of the nose and airways. Allergic rhinitis afflicts people of all ages including nearly 10% of U.S. citizens and 30% of the population worldwide.

Tonsils, a dangling dilemma – demystified!

Tonsillitis entails inflammation of the glands in the back of the throat. These infection-fighting lymph node glands are known as pharyngeal tonsils. The tissue at the back of the tongue (lingual tonsils) as well as the adenoids may also be affected by this inflammation. Tonsillitis can range from acute to chronic. Other variations include recurrent tonsillitis which consists of multiple episodes of tonsillitis within a year. There’s also peritonsillar abscess which is similar (bacteria-wise) to strep throat, where there’s an accumulation of pus in the tissue around the tonsils.
